On 13-14 February, 2012, within the frameworks of planned measures on
finding and involving of stakeholders in field of city heating and
cooling, the energy expert of Swedish company "TERMOECONOMI"
Bert Andersen has visited the Public Venture JSC
"Kyivvodokanal".
"TERMOECONOMI" is the world leading enterprise in building and implementing of
big heat pump stations. The meeting of the Swedish expert with top management
of the "Kyivvodokanal" was organized by the partners on ERAIHM project Dr. Olga Kordas
(the Royal Technology Institute, Stockholm, Sweden) and Prof. Eugene
Nikiforovich (the Institute of Hydromecanics of NAS of Ukraine). The
specialists, accompanied by Executive Director of the
"European Energy Company" Olexander Kuznets, were acquainted with
Bortnichi Aeration Station (BAS) and have made a presentation of activity
of "TERMOECONOMI" company.
In particular, the possibility of implementation of heat pump technology
at the territory of the Station was considered during the talks with
Volodimir Brazhnik, head of BSA. In Mr. Andersen's opinion, the potential
of heat energy receiving form sewage water is so huge that if the heat
pump station is established, it would provide heating and hot water supply not
only for all buildings, but also for nearby residential communities.
Taking into account that the Aeration Station now needs as much, as
approximately 380 thousands kWt-hours per day, one can conclude that
implementing of heat pump equipment would be repaid at extremely short
terms and allow saving of considerable costs. Also,
the important contribution to environmental protection will be made.
