GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
ELECTRONIC MANUSCRIPT
The basic form of article submission is the electronic one. The authors are personally responsible for the text of the manuscript delivered to the Editorial Board.
Besides the manuscript, the following documents are required:
- the list of the authors (full transcript of names and e-mails are mandatory, the contact phones are optional);
- scanned cover letter signed by the person authorized to be the contact author (download the blank).
The electronic manuscript is submitted to the official e-mail of the Journal: jha.kyiv@gmail.com.
The acceptable file formats are the Microsoft Word Document or LaTeX (font 12 pt, single-spaced one-column 165 mm wide text). In the LaTeX documents, the context labels should be used to refer to the equations, tables, and figures.
The detailed instructions for creating the graphics, tables, and math expressions are given below. Note that manuscripts submitted as the PDF file are not sufficeint for pre-press processing in the case of acceptance for publication.
COPYRIGHT AND PERMISSIONS
Authors retain copyright and grant the Journal the right of first publication. In addition, they can post their work on the Internet for free.
When using the illustrations or other materials borrowed from third-party publications or obtained in course private communication, the authors should provide the Editorial Office with a scanned letter with the written consent of the copyright holders.
TEXT LANGUAGE
The journal accepts the manuscripts written in Ukrainian or English, at the authors' choice. The text must fully comply with current literary, spelling and grammatical norms. We draw the authors' attention to attaining the maximal clarity of statements and formulations: this will indicate your respect for the reader.
If gross violations of these requirements are detected, the manuscript will be returned for revision. In case of repeated violations, it will be removed from consideration.
TITLE, ABSTRACTS, AND KEYWORDS
We recommend using a unique and concise title (up to 10-12 words), reflecting the article content and not coinciding with the titles of other materials published anywhere.
The abstract gives the reader a concise idea of the object and subject of research, methods, obtained results, and their possible practical application. Its length is expected to be within 1800 to 2000 characters (with intervals and punctuation marks).
The keywords are intended to simplify the context search of the article. They reflect the specifics of its subject as fully as possible. We recommend to list 4 to 7 keywords.
The Ukrainian and English translations of the title, names of the authors, abstracts, and keywords are provided in parallel. Both variants should have the identical meaning. The authors are responsible for the correct English transliteration of their names.
STRUCTURE OF THE ARTICLE
The text of the article should be divided into sections according to the logic of the narrative, e.g., STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM, METHODOLOGY, EXPERIMENTAL SETUP, OBTAINED RESULTS, DISCUSSION, and so on. The INTRODUCTION and CONCLUSION are the mandatory sections.
The INTRODUCTION should present a general formulation of the scientific problem, a brief review of the state of the arts (with the analysis of the relevant literature sources), the subject, goal, and particular tasks of the research.
The CONCLUSION stands for the clear, essential, and laconic formulation of the obtained results, and for outlining the scientific prospects for further research (if necessary).
All the sections should have the numbers, except ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (if present) and REFERENCES:
1. INTRODUCTION
2. XXX
3. YYY
...
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
REFERENCES
If necessary, the sections may be subdivided into subsections with a double numbering, and so on:
2. SECTION
2.1 Subsection A
2.2 Subsection B
2.2.1 Subsubsection
...
LIST OF REFERENCES
The list of references should look as a separate final section. The sources in the list are sequenced in the citation order. The recommended formatting of the original (multilanguage) list is the Ukrainian standard DSTU 8302:2015, with the corresponding DOI (if available).
According to the current instructions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and recommendations of the international scientometrics bases, the original list of references should be dubbed in English. We recommend translating (and NOT transliterating) the non-English titles of the articles and the books. It would be better to include here the relevant English source (original/translated), if available. Though we use the IEEE Transactions formatting for English references, the Ukrainian DSTU 8302:2015 is also acceptable for the submitted manuscripts.
The publisher, location (if available), and total number of pages should be indicated for books, along with the first and last pages for the journal and conference articles. The FULL titles of the journals, transactions, and proceedings should be mentioned. The volume, number, and issue (if available) are mandatory. The authors' names (up to five, inclusive)should be listed in full.
Pay special attention to the citation of the NEW research published in the last two to three years. The international publications referred to in Scopus and WoS are highly recommended. The self-citation index should be less than 30%.
Complementing the submission with the references generated as the BibTeX bibliography database is welcome.
FORMULAS AND MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSIONS
The short inline math expressions and stand-alone single- and multi-line formulas are allowed in the manuscripts. Assign proper labels with plain straightforward numbering to the equations, explicitly mentioned in the text. Whenever possible, we recommend joining the related math blocks into the multi-line array with the single label.
Create math expressions in Microsoft Word documents by Equation Editor, MathType, or the Equation instrument of Microsoft Word 2007. The math converted into raster or vector graphics is not acceptable.
The mathematical expressions in the LaTeX documents are typeset according to the LaTeX 2e standards. The set of symbols may be extended using the packages amsfonts and amssymb. Macros generation by the user is strongly discouraged.
FIGURES AND TABLES
The figures are added to the manuscript as separate raster (BMP, PNG, JPG, etc.) or vector (EPS, PDF) graphic files with proper resolution (not less than 300 dpi). The illustrations may also be included in the Microsoft Word document. In this case, they should be put on separate pages at the end of the file.
The tables should be well-organized, with uniform content. The authors should avoid the tabular presentation of the large digital, symbol, or math sets.
Plain numbering should be used for the figures and the tables. The captions should be relevant, ordered, and clear. Here, we recommend including explications of the indicated curves, point data sets, circuit components, etc.
Some figures may consist of the subfigures gathered under the common number and the caption. The subfigures should be marked with lowercase Ukrainian or English letters, depending on the article's language. We strongly recommend printing these letters as the text, not including them in the picture itself.
