The journal “Hydrodynamics and Acoustics” publishes original articles devoted to various fundamental and applied problems of fluid mechanics and acoustics and reviews highlighting their modern trends. Its main purpose is to acquaint readers with new scientific results within the framework of a defined topic. The target audience is scientists, engineers, and graduate students interested in the issues of theoretical, computational, and experimental mechanics of liquid, gas, and plasma, hydraulic engineering, and theoretical and applied acoustics.

According to the nomenclature defined by the current normative acts of Ukraine, the subject of the journal corresponds to the following fields of knowledge:

• E5 - Physics and Astronomy;
• E6 - Applied Physics and Nanomaterials;
• F1 - Applied Mathematics.

The scientific journal “Hydrodynamics and Acoustics” is a successor of the serial transactions “Hydromechanics” and “Bionics”, along with the journals “Applied Hydromechanics” and “Acoustic Bulletin”, which were published by the Institute of Hydromechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in different periods.
