The effect of underwater obstacle symmetry on surface gravity waves propagation

The features of the improved reduction method in respect to the problem of scattering of surface gravity waves by bottom irregularity of rectangular shape have been expounded. The known method of solving of similar tasks on the basis of expanding of solution in series of eigenfunctions has been developed by selection of singularity relative to velocity in neighborhood of angular point of the obstacle. This makes possible to estimate the contribution of higher order modes by asymptotically. The advantages of the proposed method in compared with usual reduction has been demonstrated. The results of calculation of the reflection and transmising coe?cients for di?erent depths of the channel before and behind obstacle have been represented.
