Estimations of intensive ventilation influence on the slender axisymmetric cavity shape

The influence of the gas ventilation on the shape of slender axisymmetric steady cavities is considered. The first approximation equation and the approach of one-dimensional inviscid flow of incompressible gas in the narrow channel between the cavity surface and the cylindrical body were used. The analysis of the differential equation obtained in paper demonstrated that ventilation can sufficiently increase the cavity dimensions, especially at small cavitation numbers and in narrow channels. It was shown that the ventilation rate can be limited by two critical values. Examples of calculations are presented.
