Stationary motion of point vortex in a layer of finite thikness of stratified medium confined by rigid walls

A linear problem of the forced stationary movement of a two-dimensional point vortex in the layer of finite thickness of linear stratified fluid is solved. The solution is obtained in the squaring form. It is shown that a kinematic flow pattern in the neighbourhood of the vortex and outside thereof can substantialy change while a density gradient is increased. A hydrodynamic constituent of the resistance force determined by a stratification tends to increase rapidly.
