Steady pressure filtration into small spherical drain in non-cohesive non-suffosion soil

Applied hydromechanics, Vol. 11 (83) ¹ 2, (2009) p.68-79
Two mathematical problems are stated of steady-state pressure groundwater flow to a small spherical sink in uniform noncohesion nonsuffosion soil. Exact solutions are obtained in case of three special zones presence. A quantative analysis is performed of the sink action after reorientation of irregular structural particles. The most important characteristics are compared for deformable and initial soil and the results are evidence of deformation effect significance for groundwater flow. Recommendations are given about practical drainage calculations taking into account such hydrodynamic deformations.
