Features of wave fields forming in the liquid-filled cylinders made of stiff and compliant materials

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 15 ¹ 3, (2012) p.3-21
The paper deals with studying of properties of the normal waves in the liquid-filled cylinders made of stiff and compliant materials. A complete system of equations of the dynamic theory of elasticity is used to describe the wave field in the cylinder. This approach allows the analysis of the elastic-liquid interaction in wide range of frequencies and wavelengths. Data on the dispersion, kinematic and energy characteristics of the normal waves are presented. For systematization of the dispersion characteristics of the normal waves, a methodology based on the distinguishing of partial subsystems is proposed. The essential differences in manifestation of wave interaction in the cylinder and liquid are found for the cases of the stiff and compliant materials.
