A linear mathematical model for spatial motion of the conical tank with a liquid

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 12 ¹ 2, (2009) p.44-56
The modal system of motion equations has been derived and the hydrodynamic coefficients have been computed for the case of a tapered conical cavity, by using the variational methods for solving the basic boundary problems of the linear theory of three-dimensional motions of solid bodies with the cavities partially filled with a liquid. The formulas for the hydrodynamic force and moment acting on the tank's walls have been presented. The implementation of the linear modal theory has been illustrated on the examples of the Sretenski's problem and the problem on coupled eigen oscillations of water tower with a conical elevated tank.
