Propagation features of a sound pulse signal in a regular plane waveguide

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 11 ¹ 4, (2008) p.9-23
Propagation features of a sound pulse signal in a regular plane waveguide with ideal boundaries have been analyzed. The periodic time sequence of sinusoidal segments without or with frequency modulation is chosen as a model of the initial signal. Two variants of spatial structure of an initial signal are considered: the single- and multimode one. When the pulse signal propagates in the waveguide, its spatial-time structure is affected by the dispersion and filtering features of the waveguide. The typical changes of the initial signal structure have been studied. Some parameters providing the quantitative estimation of such changes have been calculated.
