The uniformly convergent Ritz method in the problem of axisymmetric vibration of the dome-like shell of revolution

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 11 ¹ 2, (2008) p.45-57
A variational method is proposed for solution of the spectral problem on free vibration of shells of revolution. This method had the same rate of convergence both for middle and small shell thickness ratios. The systems of coordinate functions were formed subject to the preset structure of the formal asymptotic decompositions of fundamental system solutions of the initial system of differential equations. The computation of frequencies and vibration modes for the dome-like shell of revolution is presented as an example.
