Forced vibrations of cartilages of human trachea and bronchi

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 9 ¹ 1, (2006) p.10-14
On the basis of the theory of flexural vibrations of circular rods an algorithm has been developed for quantitative estimating forced vibrations of tracheal and bronchial cartilages under the action of radial loading. It is proved that the forced vibrations of cartilages are of complex character determined mainly by the first three vibrational modes. The obtained results allow asserting that at a sound emergence inside the trachea and bronchi their walls will rather perform complex vibrations than the pulsating ones (as it was supposed before).
