he dynamic and kinematic characteristics of a viscoelastic layer with varying width subjected to the pulse loading

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 8 ¹ 4, (2005) p.29-37
From solving the nonstationary problem on vibration of an isotropic viscoelastic layer with varying thickness and finite length subjected to action of the pulse loading, the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the layer are determined as time functions at various geometric and mechanical coating parameters. The surface dynamic roughness and vibrational velocity of the layer's surface are investigated as the dependencies from the mechanical properties and geometry of a viscoelastic coating. Time behavior of the kinematic, potential, accepted (accumulated) and dissipated energies is studied. The relative values of the parameters of the viscoelastic layer and loading are determined, for which the accumulated energy from the external pulse disturbance is maximal.
