| The problem of scope of applicability of the theory of Timoshenko's beams to determination of bending vibrations of a circular cylindrical shell with attached absolute rigid body is considered. It is shown that accounting for shear strains of the beam's cross-section allows to determine the lowest frequencies and vibrational eigenforms of the considered mechanical system for rather short shells. |
