Non-axisymmetric eigen-oscillations of a cylindrical shell with the attached rigid body

The thin-walled cylindrical shell with the attached absolutely rigid body on one of its ends is considered. Using the equations of technical theory of shells the problem on free non-axisymmetrical oscillations of the considered system is formulated. On basis of a variational method the approximate solution is offered for a spectral problem with the parameter that is present both in equations, and the boundary conditions. For long enough shells the simplified statement of the initial problem is outlined, alowing to develop an exact solution. The numerical results and their analysis are given. Also, the boundaries of applicability for the approximate statement of the problem are offered.
