Analysis of acoustic signal generated by axi-symmetyic localized area of cavitational nature

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 3 ¹ 4, (2000) p.45-53
The results of analysis are presented for acoustic signals generated by submerged axi-symmetric fluid flows that form periodically collapsing localized thoroidal cavitational areas. A transcendental dispersion equation describing the above process is obtained, and an analytical dependence for frequency of generated oscillations as a function of the radiating system parameters is evaluated. The coefficients are introducted and quantifiable evaluated that determine the part of a cavitation fluid flow rate, the pressure changes inside the cavitational area, ratio of the cavitation area volume to the volume of area cutted off by the flow. Plots of the experimental and theoretical dependences of the generated oscillation frequency on the operating parameters of considered system are presented.
