Kinematics of shock wave interaction with the interface between transversally isotropic elastic media

Investigation of a shock wave interaction with an interface between transversally isotropic elastic media possessing differing mechanical properties is fulfilled via set up of two problems: construction of fronts of formed reflected and refracted shock waves and determination of the field functions intensities in their vicinities. The former is purely kinematic, the latter is dynamic. Zero approximation of the ray method is used for their solution. It is associated with introduction of a ray coordinate system. One of its coordinate surfaces coincides with the transforming front of the shock wave. Analysis of transformation of the rays and fronts system in the interface neighbourhood is performed on the basis of the locally plane approach.
