Generation of acoustic waves in half-space by a rectangular source of finite dimensions

The analytical solutions for two-dimensional problems on sound radiation by a rectangular piezoceramic transducer into acoustic half-space baffled with soft or rigid screen have been obtained. The far-field pressure directivity patterns have been constructed; they are in a good agreement with experimental data. The efficiency of sound radiation for several normal modes of planar vibration of the rectangular transducer has been estimated.
