Potentialities and prospects of diagnostics of lung pathologies by computer recording and processing of respiratory sounds

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 1 ¹ 2, (1998) p.21-33
The paper is dedicated to problems of developing some techniques for the objective recording, analyzing and documenting of the respiratory sounds. The original non-invasive techniques of computer recording and processing of the respiratory sounds from the human body surface are described. Possible forms of respiratory data representation forms have been considered, such as time-frequency, spectral and statistical images. The image characteristics, that could become the future diagnostic signs of lung diseases, have been pointed out.
