Classification of run-up regimes of internal solitary waves on trapeziform shelf

A new classification of regimes of internal solitary wave interaction with a shelf-slope topography for two-layer fluid is proposed. À new three-dimensional relations of regimes of internal solitary wave interaction with a shelf-slope topography in the space of three parameters α, B, γ are introduced. Where α is a non dimensional amplitude normalized on the thermocline thickness (γ>0), B is the blocking parameter that is the ratio of the height of the bottom layer over the shelf to the amplitude of the incident wave and γ is the parameter inverse to the slope inclination (γ>0.01).
