The lateral force value on a planing hull is researched in dependence on the fin transposition angle α. In experiments at the hydrodynamic tunnel the hulls having a circular cylindrical shape and series of fins having a rectangular shape with the small aspect ratio and with the wedge type of a section were used. Results of dependencies of the lateral force Fy(α;λ) on the fin transposition angle α=(0 ... 25)° and fin aspect ratio λ=l/h=(1 ... 0.2) are given for the Froude numbers Fr≫3, where appearance of the ricochet planing regime is observed. Reduction of efficiency of the fins with the small aspect ratio in the area λ<0.4 and appearance of zones of loss of controllability in the area of small fin transposition angles α<(3 ... 13)° are discovered.
