Numerical simulation of subsonic nonequilibrium combustion of a propane jet in a blast

Applied hydromechanics, Vol. 17 (89) ¹ 2, (2015) p.20-25
The results of numerical studies of mixing, ignition and combustion during outflow of a propane jet in the co-current flow of air in an axisymmetric channel are presented. Numerical modeling of turbulent subsonic nonequilibrium flow was fulfilled within the two-dimensional stationary equations of a "narrow channel" within taking into account the finite velocities of chemical kinetics within the framework of a global mechanism. The impact of the ignition on the delay of the mixing process in the flow of unmixed components is shown. Proposals for rational temperature of the co-current flow selection and location of an ignition section selection are formulated, that allow to intensify the development of the combustion process.
