Stability of the free surface of a viscous magnetizable fluid at multiparametric excitation

Applied hydromechanics, Vol. 16 (88) ¹ 3, (2014) p.36-51
The problem of parametric and static instabilities of the free surface of viscous nonlinear magnetizable fluid and dynamic stabilization of such instabilities using oscillating magnetic and gravitational fields is considered. It is assumed that the fluid is in an arbitrarily oriented towards its free surface magnetic field, that is consist of a constant and the oscillating parts, as well as under the influence of modulated gravitational acceleration. The structure of the instability regions for the free surface of a ferrofluid, which is parametrically excited by polyharmonic impact is investigated.
