Non-impulse local supply of polymer solutions to turbulent boundary layer

Turbulent boundary layer with non-impulse supply of polymer solution is investigated. The mathematical model considering dependence of flow characteristics on supply conditions and properties of polymer additives is proposed. The Reynolds stress transport model for turbulent flow underlies it. An influence of the polymer source in a turbulent boundary layer on the drag reduction is numerically investigated on the basis of the presented model.
