The paper presents results of numerical simulation of a vertical fluid motion in a cavity with a rectangular cross section. The cavity is located on a bottom of a flat channel. The approach to calculate flow parameters is based on a direct numerical solution of nonstationary Navier-Stokes equations in velocity-pressure variables. Detailed investigations of peculiarities are carried out of the channel flow interaction with a vortex structure inside of the cavity and in a zone of its location for three geometrical parameters of the cavity. The calculations are implemented for two shapes of a streamwise velocity profile at the channel entry section depending on a Reynolds number. |
