Ideas of G.V.Logvinovich and calculations of long axisymmetric supercavities

In February 2013 we celebrate the 100th jubilee of Georgiy Logvinovich - the outstanding scientist whose life and creative activity are closely connected with Ukraine and the Institute of Hydromechanics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In the paper was shown that his principle of independence, formulae and ideas still remain the effective tools for investigations of the long steady and un steady cavities. Different differential and integral-differential equations for the calculations of the cavity shape and the cavitator drag were analyzed.
