Numerical simulation of Magnus effect by the cross-flow of circular cylinder in unperturbed flow of viscous fluid

To research the flow around rotating circular cylinder is applied the unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The numerical algorithm is based on a method of artificial compressibility, the implicit three-layer scheme of the second order with subiterations during integration on time, difference scheme the third order with flux vectors splitting for convective terms and central-difference scheme at integration of viscous terms. The velocity profiles, vorticity fields, distribution of pressure and friction coefficients over cylinder surfaces, drag and lift force coefficients are analyzed for a laminar regime of the flow.
