A numerical algorithm is developed to simulate secondary magnetic fields induced by the motion of conductive sea water in the Earth's electromagnetic field. It is applied to derive strength and linear sizes of the fields generated on the ocean free surface and in air by a moving body. The calculations revealed the dependency of magnetic field horizontal components on the body trajectory relative to the magnetic north. The intensity of magnetic disturbances is obtained to decay as exponent when removing the body from the free surface and it is proportional to the body velocity. |
