Scattering of internal waves by two-dimensional mixed local region which is at viscous stage of its evolution

Applied hydromechanics, Vol. 9 (81) ¹ 2-3, (2007) p.168-180
A solution is provided to the two-dimensional non-steady problem of scattering the background monochromatic internal wave on a completely mixed intrusion patch located in the finite thickness layer of linear stratified fluid, the said patch being in the viscous stage of its evolution. The use of a close approximation of actual patch geometry with time-dependent rectangle has provided an analytical solution. The structure and characteristics of scattered internal waves, the amplitudes of which have weak time parametric dependency, was determined. An energy flow of scattered waves in a unit of time was determined.
