From hudraulics of open seas to hydromechanics of river systems

The review ot the works devoted to numerical and experimental modeling of currents and transport of sediments in river systems is submitted. The basic approximated relationships dependences and the numerical models that used for calculation of flow field are described. The analytical and numerical models used for calculation of sediment transport are analysed. The significant attention is given to the analysis of features of current in a vicinity of piers of hydraulic engineering constructions, to methods of control of local scour of a bed. The role of scientists of Institute of hydromechanics NAS of Ukraine in development of a hydromechanics of river systems is reflected.
