Some adaptive structural functional singularities of the epidermis and it of derivatives at fishes

Applied hydromechanics, Vol. 2 (74) ¹ 2, (2000) p.51-58
The article analyzes the structure and adaptive features of epidermis among different species of fish. It discusses the modes of mucus excretion to the body surface and their possible effects on circumfluence regime, as well as the relationships between body shape, swimming speed and the topography of sectretory system. It is demonstrated that not the degree of fish scale development but rather the ecology of fish, and the swimming speed in particular determines the processes of mucus excretion.
