Determining the amplitude-frequency response for electronic stethoscope 3M Littmann 3200

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 16 ¹ 3, (2013-2014) p.46-57
Knowledge of true working parameters is important, in particular, for creating and functioning of advanced centralized systems for computer processing of cardiac and respiratory phonograms recorded by devices of different types and models. So, the measurement technique and experimental setup were developed for determining of amplitude-frequency response of 3M Littmann 3200 electronic stethoscope. The obtained results allowed the evaluation of performance of examined specimen of electronic stethoscope within the tract of auscultation signal receiving, acoustoelectric and analog-to-digit conversion and transfer to a computer with the installed special software. Reliability of the obtained data is provided by use of proper experimental equipment and correspondence of main features of the amplitude-frequency response to operating parameters of the model declared by its developer. The possible ways for improving of used methodology are directed, which would move to measuring of the acoustic properties of electronic stethoscope in the strict sense of the word.
