Energy features of diffraction of shear waves on a vertical boundary in a composite elastic waveguide

On the basis of a superposition method, the diffraction of the Rayleigh-Lamb waves on a vertical boundary of a waveguide formed by a rigid contact of two halfstrips is calculated for the case of their identical heights, but different elastic properties. The efficiency of the method is provided by accounting for stress singularity occurring in the edge of a contact line at particular combinations of elastic properties of media. The analysis of energy transformation of the incidence wave into the reflected and transmitted ones is carried out.
