Plane stress state of a material with the allowance for unloading process in a dynamic plastic-elastic formulation

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 14 ¹ 4, (2011) p. 3-8
By finite-difference technique, a planar stress state for a thin compact specimen with static (non-growing) crack is considered in an unsteady elasto-plastic formulation. In doing so, the the material unloading process was taken into account for load applied to localized area according to linear time dependence. The calculated value of stress intensity factor near the crack's edge in the problem on static elastic deformation of a compact specimen was taken for the main independent parameter for determining of evolution of stress and strain fields, Odquist parameter, etc. The specific stress oscillations are found when stress intensity factors are growing above some critical values. The developed technique gives the possibility for determining of destruction toughness of the material.
