On propagation of longitudinal and shear waves from lung parenchyma to surface tissues of the thorax

The paper deals with considering of features of different types of waves propagating through the interface of two halfspaces modeling the lung parenchyma and surface soft tissues of the thorax. The parameters of wave transmission has been shown to be essentially dependent from the ratio of transversal velocities for both media and type of the boundary conditions. Nevertheless, in spite of rather complex character of the observed acoustic energy interchange, the results obtained on the base of elementary theory with neglecting of transversal stress components remain valid for the most of practical situations.
