Studying of an emulsification process in multifrequency acoustic field

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 12 ¹ 4, (2009) p.57-64
The paper deals with problem of acoustic emulsifying of the immiscible liquids. In doing so, the direct-flow hydrodynamic radiators with circular nozzle and step obstacle are used, which frequency spectrum contains a series of multiple and aliquant harmonics. The results of the experimental studying of emulsion preparation have been represented. We have compared the qualities of emulsions obtained with different methods: mechanical stirring; blending by magnetostrictive transducer; using of one hydrodynamic radiator at the atmospheric pressure and two hydrodynamic radiators with different frequency ranges at static overpressure. The advantage of the last method for obtaining of high-dispersion emulsions has been shown.
