Pulse wave propagation in large blood vessels with arbitrary wall thickness

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 11 ¹ 4, (2008) p.31-35
The paper presents the motion equations for a hollow elastically deformed cylinder of finite thickness filled with an incompressible inviscid fluid. We consider the case of axisymmetric deformations at pressure pulse wave propagation in the blood vessel. The cylinder's motion is described by the linear theory of elasticity and fluid motion - by the potential theory. The problem dimensions have been deflated through the power series expansion of the elastic field. The dispersion law in the arbitrary approximation has been analytically obtained. Quantitative estimation of the Moens-Korteweg wave propagation velocity has been improved.
