A single-point technique for determining the characteristics of acoustic materials in the waveguides

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 11 ¹ 1, (2008) p.28-31
The paper deals with proposing the technique for measuring of the low-frequency reflection coefficient of sound-absorbing acoustic materials in water-filled waveguides. It implies use of a single hydrophone - vibration velocity sensor. The source of acoustic vibration in the waveguide has the form of an electroacoustic six-pole. Presence of the vibration velocity sensor in the devices developed on the basis of the proposed technique allows the compensation of waveguide's wall vibration. As a result, the accuracy of measurement of the distance between the tested object and the hydrophone increases, as well as total reliability when operating at high hydrostatic pressures.
