A technique for determining acoustic characteristics of materials by their reaction to the actuator in a water-filled waveguides

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 10 ¹ 4, (2007) p.52-58
Using the properties of electroacoustic six-pole, a technique is proposed for measuring low-frequency values of a reflection coefficient of materials in water-filled waveguides. It is based on the possibility to control on the part of acoustics the medium's reaction to the six-pole operating as a vibration actuator. For devices set using the proposed technique there are no measuring hydrophones in the waveguide. This leads to increasing reliability when working at high hydrostatic pressures.
