An acoustic-hydrodynamic method for measuring the cavitation threshold in a liquid

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 9 ¹ 1, (2006) p.34-39
Two devices for measuring the cavitation threshold in a fluid are proposed. The models of the direct-flow and counter-flow sensors, being in essence the elastic underwater jet membranes, are considered. The basic frequency of the membrane's self-vibrations is obtained as a function of the fluid characteristics and device's geometric parameters. The numerical calculations are compared with experimental results.
