Features of energy transformation in an elastic waveguide with an insert at its forced vibrations

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 8 ¹ 3, (2005) p.34-43
Energy transfer in the elastic waveguide from the insert area to the halflayer is computed as based on superposition method. The waveguide is formed of two halflayers with identical elastic properties and insert with other physical properties. The field in the waveguide is induced by force loading acting on the insert. The method efficiency is provided by the allowance for stress singularity occurring in the angular point on the contact line at certain ratios of media's elastic properties. Far field energy dependence on frequency and the insertion length/waveguide height ratio is analyzed.
