On the nonlinear attenuation of exponential elastic pulses

A decrease of intensity is considered for the exponent-shape elastic pulses propagating in the media with absorption coefficient proportional to the first power or square of frequency. The theory is compared with the results of experimental investigations of acoustic fields induced by axially-symmetric hydrodynamic sources with the availability of hydrostatic overpressure in a working reservoir.
