Fractal analysis of cardiac sounds as the method for determining the hemodialysis procedure tolerance

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 7 ¹ 1, (2004) p.62-70
A possibility of using of the phonocardiogram nonlinear-dynamic characteristics for increasing the efficiency of hemodialysis is investigated. The analysis of the phonocardiograms for the patients undergoing the replacement renal therapy shows that the value, being the most dependent on the procedure tolerance, is the correlation integral of cardiac acoustic signal. This parameter can serve the additional objective criterion of the hemodialysis adequacy.
