Determination of inhomogeneity of elastic properties of a piezoceramic rod in location of dielectrically separated part of the electrode covering by the method of low-frequency tomography

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 6 ¹ 3, (2003) p.53-59
The problem on longitudinal fluctuations of a piezoceramic rod with the thickness polarization is considered. Mechanical inhomogeneity of the rod's material is caused due to separation of a certain part from its working electrode covering by dielectric intervals. For the case when the electrodes on the separated part are open the eigenfrequencies of rod's vibration on three lowest normal modes are found. According to the method of the low-frequency tomography the location and the approximate form of inhomogeneity are restored. For the real piezoceramic rod, the first six resonant frequencies are experimentally determined both at continuous and at separated electrodes. It is shown that the results of experimental study well agree with the calculations.
