Free oscillations of a two-layer liquid with the elastic membranes on the "free" and interior surfaces

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 6 ¹ 3, (2003) p.44-52
An analytical solution for two-dimensional problem of hydroelasticity, describing the interconnected free oscillations of a two-layer perfect incompressible liquid in a rectangular channel and planar membranes located on the "free" and interior surfaces of liquid is developed. A stability condition for interconnected oscillations of the liquid and membranes is obtained. The cases when a membrane is located only on the "free" (interior) surface the of liquid are considered. The numerical study of eigenfrequencies is carried out. On the basis of the Bubnov-Galerkin method the approximate solution of the considered problem is obtained. Comparison of two approaches shows the effectiveness of the analytical solution.
