Modeling of a contact interation between bounded area of the surface of human body and a vibrator

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 6 ¹ 2, (2003) p.58-67
Physical and mathematical models of contact interaction of a human tissue with mechanical impedancemeter are developed. On the basis of the assumption that the main role at such interaction is played by a column of soft biotissues between the vibrator and bones of a skeleton, the problem on harmonic vibrations of the elastic cylinder with kinematically loaded end face under the condition of absence of tangential stresses at the contact surface is considered. Testing of the model was carried out through comparison with the experiments on vibroexcitation of a layer of a viscoelastic gel and a skin of human forearm in situ. Discovered frequency dependencies of mechanical impedance of the cylinder have shown as a whole the satisfactory coordination with the experimental data. So, it is confirmed, that when modeling the low-amplitude vibrations of the soft biotissues it is possible to apply the model of linearly elastic medium with attenuation of transversal waves.
