Focussing of rays of non-plane discontinuity wave on the free boundary of transversally isotropic elastic medium

The problem of reorganization of fronts of quasi-primary and quasi-secondary waves of strong discontinuity formed by interaction of a non-planar non-stationary wave with a free parabolic surface of elastic transversally isotropic medium is solved with the use of zero approximation of the ray method. For solution of the nonlinear Snell's equations a synthesis of the method of continuation of solution on the parameter and the Newton's algorithm was used. The effects of scattering and focussing of non-stationary waves as special cases of the front bifurcation and formation of caustics are analyzed.
