Detection of an ice drift in the channel zones by hydroacoustic means

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 6 ¹ 2, (2003) p.3-9
An application of hydroacoustic means for detection of an ice drift and the control over ice conditions in the channel zones is considered. Analysis of the received experimental data allows to allocate the stages of evolution of an ice cover of water areas, which generate specific background acoustic signals. It is shown, that knowledge of their characteristic features allows the efficient tracing and predicting of ice conditions by hydroacoustic methods.
