On low-frequency oscillation of bubbles in a vibrating liquid

The results of experimental and theoretical study of oscillation of gaseous bubbles in a vibrating water column are presented. The vibration is caused by oscillation of a plate at the low end surface of a cylindrical vessel. Description of bubble's dynamics includes consideration of inductive forces and forces of viscous nature. Qualitative concordance between the theory and the experiment is obtained.
