Motion of the fluid in capillary under various ultrasonic action regimes

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 4 ¹ 2, (2001) p.64-72
The peculiarities of the sonocapillary effect in precavitational regime are investigated. It is shown, that the cause of a small meniscus displacement into the capillary in this regime is the strong attenuation of the ultrasonic field on the capillary entrance. The attenuation coefficient's value is determined experimentally. It is shown, that a pulsatory bubble, forming on the capillary cut is able to concentrate the energy of ultrasonic wave and to direct it in the capillary canal. Herewith a capillary filling depth increases more by that on one-two order. It is shown, that stable liquid increase in capillary can be observed in absence of a cavitation.
